Utilization and Management of Pelagic Fisheries in West Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province

Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat (KSB), Nusa Tenggara Province has potential fishery resources. Based on Permen KP No.18 of 2014 concerning the Republic Indonesia State Fisheries Management Area (WPPNRI), KSB marine is included in WPPNRI 573. The purpose this study was to determine sustainable pelagic fisheries and their level utilization. This research conducted from January November 2022. method used a field survey descriptive method. results showed that relationship between effort CPUE for large fish obtained linear equation y = 12.067x + 277.6 with R2 0.1785. explains positive production effort, meaning fishing gear affects fish. optimum value 1674.90 trips per year maximum catch 232,459.1 kg year. Effort small -18.575x 11512 0.2817. negative catch. shows not main factor affecting amount production. 106917.700 992998.139 utilization rate 2.049%, an 0.001%. concludes West Regency are still below potential.
